Home Depot to bring its design center concept to Rockville, the only location outside of California

The Home Depot Inc. (NYSE: HD) is expected to bring its design center concept to Montrose Crossing shopping center, the first of its kind in Greater Washington and the only current location outside of California, the landlord confirmed.

Montrose Crossing owner Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) has filed an interior alteration permit with Montgomery County to build out a two-story Home Depot Design Center at 12087 Rockville Pike.

The design center is a kitchen and bath showroom where customers can redesign their own space, from concept to completion, with the help of Home Depot’s design and project management specialists. The design center is to occupy the two-story, roughly 36,000-square-foot former space of Golf Galaxy, which closed in 2018.
