Report: D.C. United in talks to open sportsbook at Audi Field

D.C. United is in talks with Las Vegas-based hotel and casino company Caesars Entertainment Corp. (NASDAQ: CZR) to open a sportsbook at Audi Field next spring, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Representatives from each party confirmed to the Post that they are interested in a partnership but have yet to reach an agreement. The potential partnership may also involve a sponsorship in which the Caesars logo would be brandished on D.C. United’s jerseys next season.

Anonymous sources told the Post that D.C. United has been working on both scheduled upgrades and other renovations that would include a sportsbook at the Buzzard Point stadium. Another source said the sportsbook will include a restaurant and bar and be open to the public every day and to ticket holders on game days.

The D.C. Office of Lottery and Gaming announced Tuesday that license applications for privately-operated sports wagering will be available Dec. 3 through an online application portal. Audi Field is one of the…
