Although she spent much of her career in media, Julissa Marenco Otero’s ties to the storied Smithsonian Institution go back, like so many of ours, a long way.
The woman who now serves as the entity’s chief marketing officer clearly remembers driving down from New Jersey with her parents and brother to visit the monuments and the National Air and Space Museum. She was in sixth grade at the time.
“It’s part of the upbringing of so many people,” she says, pointing to the millions of families who have piled into station wagons to make the road trip to the nation’s capital over the years. “The opportunity to really work with such a well-recognized brand and such a revered brand is a dream.”
