New Leesburg B&B opens in one of Loudoun’s oldest stone barns

Leesburg’s tourism draw continues to expand with the addition of a new high-end bed and breakfast located in — where else — a former dairy barn. 

It’s not just any barn, however. Stone Gables B&B, located at 19077 Loudon Orchard Road, is in one of Loudoun County’s last remaining stone-gabled barns — one that dates back to 1823. 

The four-room bed and breakfast incorporates the barn’s charm, exposing the original stone and wood beams in the rooms. Stone Gables can also serve as an event space for 50 indoors, or a tented event space outdoors for 75.

Owners Leslie and Wayne Tharp made the property into a B&B. It had already been converted to a residence sometime after it was a working barn.

They began accepting overnight guests in May and will start hosting events later this year. While the stays include a full breakfast, there is no liquor license on the property at this time, though guests can BYOB to enjoy on site.
