Meet GWU’s new business school dean

Anuj Mehrotra was named the new dean of George Washington University’s School of Business, where he will start July 1.

Mehrotra was tapped from some familiar stomping grounds for GW University President Thomas LeBlanc, who came on board the D.C. university last year. Both last held posts at the University of Miami. Mehrotra is senior vice dean for faculty development and research for the Miami School of Business Administration; LeBlanc was executive vice president and provost.

When both were at Miami University, LeBlanc named Mehrotra interim dean of the business school for a year — during which the latter helped boost fundraising efforts — until it named a permanent successor in Harvard Business School professor John Quelch. From 2013 to 2016, Mehrotra was vice dean for graduate business programs and executive education for the Miami business school, launching more than 10 new programs, including a global executive MBA for the Americas and an online MBA.
