Another law firm finds a new home as Meridian Group lands its anchor for Anthem Row

Baker Botts LLP is moving its D.C. office to Anthem Row, a trophy-class office development under construction in Washington’s East End submarket.

The international law firm signed a 17-year lease with The Meridian Group for a total of 103,300 square feet and will occupy the top four floors of 700 K St. NW beginning in March 2020.

Baker Botts, whose D.C. office is currently located at JBG Smith Properties’ 1299 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, aka the Warner Building, plans to house approximately 150 lawyers at Anthem Row.

Anthem Row, formerly called Techworld Plaza, is a four-building complex bounded by K, Eye, Seventh and Ninth streets NW. Bethesda-based Meridian, owner of two of the four buildings, launched an extensive renovation and repositioning of the 12-story 800 K to include a new glass and brick skin, 70,000 square feet of retail on three floors, new tenant amenities, a 6,000-square-foot terrace, a new entrance on K Street and a new address — 700 K.
