Southern Utah beats Sam Houston 17-7

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Justin Miller threw for 154 yards, Isaiah Wooden rushed for 99 yards and Southern Utah beat Sam Houston 17-7 on Saturday.

Miller had one touchdown and one interception for Southern Utah (5-6, 2-3 Western Athletic Conference). Elijah Burns capped the scoring with a 2-yard score with 6:22 left in the third quarter.

Trapper Pannell was intercepted two times for Sam Houston (5-4, 3-2). He threw for 127 yards and carried it 21 times for 147 yards and another score.

Southern Utah’s Rodrick Ward intercepted a tipped pass and returned it 8 yards, and Davin Wilson was the only player within 10 yards of him for an easy pick in the fourth quarter.
