UC Irvine visits Hawaii following Welp’s 30-point game

BOTTOM LINE: UC Irvine plays the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors after Collin Welp scored 30 points in UC Irvine’s 68-51 victory against the UC Riverside Highlanders.

The Rainbow Warriors have gone 3-2 in home games. Hawaii is second in the Big West with 13.9 assists per game led by JoVon McClanahan averaging 3.9.

The Anteaters are 1-0 against Big West opponents. UC Irvine is seventh in the Big West scoring 68.4 points per game and is shooting 44.3%.

The Rainbow Warriors and Anteaters square off Friday for the first time in Big West play this season.

TOP PERFORMERS: Noel Coleman is scoring 18.5 points per game with 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists for the Rainbow Warriors. Jerome Desrosiers is averaging 11.1 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 47.1% for Hawaii.

Welp is shooting 42.3% and averaging 15.4 points for the Anteaters. JC Butler is averaging 7.4 points for UC Irvine.
