Wilson leads Lehigh past Lafayette 90-89 in OT

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Marques Wilson tied his career high with 28 points including a 3-pointer as time ran out in overtime to give Lehigh a 90-89 victory over Lafayette Saturday in a season and Patriot League opener for both teams.

Wilson’s jumper with 25 seconds left sent the game into overtime tied at 79-all.

Nic Lynch added 22 points for the Mountain Hawks.

Jakob Alamudun had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Lehigh. Jeameril Wilson added seven rebounds.

Justin Jaworski scored a career-high 37 points and had eight rebounds for the Leopards. E.J. Stephens scored a career-high 30 points and had eight rebounds. They are the first Patriot League teammates to both score 30 points in the same game in at least five seasons. Jaworski scored the most points by a Lafayette player since since Jim Mower had 37 on Nov. 2, 2011.

Neal Quinn added 12 points and six assists for Lafayette.

The teams will play again, this time at Lafayette, on Sunday.
