Ford lifts Idaho State past Sacramento State 57-56 in OT

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Robert Ford III scored two free throws with five seconds left in overtime and Idaho State rallied past Sacramento State 57-56 on Sunday to win a fourth-straight.

Brayden Parker scored four of his 18 points to kick off the overtime as Idaho State took a 53-49 lead.

Tarik Cool had 18 points for Idaho State (7-5, 4-1 Big Sky Conference). Ford finished with eight points and 13 rebounds.

The Bengals led 30-23 at halftime but scored just a season-low 19 in the second half.

Sacramento State, which had five of its previously scheduled seven games cancelled by coronavirus concerns, was playing for the first time in two weeks.

Ethan Esposito stole the ball from Ford, scored on the fast break and was fouled with nine seconds left. He converted the three-point play to give the Hornets a 56-55 lead.

Bryce Fowler led Sacramento State (4-2, 2-1) with 19 points but missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer. Esposito added 15 points. Samaad Hector had eight rebounds.
