The Loudoun-Times Mirror and Loudouner magazine have been sold to The Ogden Newspapers Inc., based in Wheeling, West Virginia. Ogden Newspapers is a family-owned newspaper group that owns 46 daily newspapers and several weekly papers across 16 states.
Virginia News Group has been sold the Loudoun-Times Mirror and Loudouner magazine to The Ogden Newspapers Inc., based in Wheeling, West Virginia, the Times-Mirror announced Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Times-Mirror will be printed at Ogden’s facility in Frederick, Maryland, as of July 12.
Ogden Newspapers, a family-owned newspaper group, owns 46 daily newspapers and several weekly papers across 16 states. Its holdings include The Frederick News-Post out of Frederick, Maryland, and three Virginia papers: the Daily News-Record, Northern Virginia Daily and The Winchester Star.
The Times-Mirror, a weekly paper, reaches more than 50,000 readers a week, and will continue to employ its local staff in Leesburg, according to the Times-Mirror story. Publisher and former owner, Peter Arundel, will remain.
