Clarification: Homes-Single Use Plastics story

Avoiding single-use plastics like straws, plastic bags and water bottles is easier than it seems and can feel empowering, say those who've managed to stop using them altogether. In a story Nov. 14, The Associated Press quoted Kera Abraham Panni of the Monterey Bay Aquarium as saying only 9 percent of plastic has been recycled. The story should have clarified that Panni, who was citing figures from Science magazine, meant 9 percent of plastics ever made, rather than 9 percent of plastics produced in a given year.
