Md. Girl Scouts leader faces child pornography charges

WASHINGTON — An Ellicott City, Maryland, man who co-leads a Girl Scouts troop faces charges of having and distributing child pornography.

The Maryland State Police said that Stacy Mizrahi, 45, was arrested and charged Thursday with four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography after an investigator with the Computer Crimes Unit was able to download child pornography in August from an internet address they later traced to Mizrahi’s home.

State troopers got a search warrant; on Thursday, they said, they found child pornography on Mizrahi’s computer and arrested him.

The state police said that Mizrahi is a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland and is co-leader, along with two women, of Troop 715.

The police are asking anyone with any more information to call their hotline at 800-637-5437.
