With a National Harbor venue coming, here’s what might replace Topgolf Alexandria

Topgolf Alexandria, we’ve known for some time, is not long for this world. A larger, more modern venue will be constructed at National Harbor about 15 minutes away, leaving the 17-acre Kingstowne site available for redevelopment.

The plan to replace Topgolf Alexandria, the first Topgolf outpost in the United States, is now before Fairfax County. Site owner 6625 South Van Dorn Street LLC (a corporation tied to a Leesburg single-family address) is proposing 74 townhomes, each with a two-car garage and driveway, 164 multifamily stacked units, and a 20,000-square-foot commercial building, according to a statement of justification filed with the county.

The commercial building will offer restaurants with outdoor seating, retail and recreational opportunities “that will surround an open area similar to a Town Green.”
