Kings Dominion rafting ride closed after woman injured


WASHINGTON — A water ride at Kings Dominion amusement park in Virginia remained closed Wednesday a day after a woman was injured on the ride.

The woman was hurt Tuesday afternoon when she landed in the catch pool area of the popular Tornado water rafting ride, according to a statement from the park.

Lifeguards and medical staff responded and the woman was taken to the hospital. No condition for the woman or the nature of her injury was available.

The ride will remain closed while park officials investigate. The rest of the Soak City water park was open to guests.
