From the mouth of babes: Kids’ advice for cooking the turkey

WASHINGTON — When it comes to the Thanksgiving feast, the turkey can be the hardest thing to make. So WTOP asked a few young cooks to pass on their advice for how to handle the bird.

Siblings Gavin and Kylie say first things first: you have to catch the turkey in the forest and then pluck its feathers.

The you have to cook it anywhere between 40 minutes and three hours, they say.

You’ll know it’s done when it’s “hot and shiny.”
