TTR Sotheby’s International Realty set a new record in April 2014 when it sold a unit in the Parc Somerset in Chevy Chase for $8.65 million, the most expensive condo to trade hands in the D.C. region. Now, it hopes to shatter that record by a wide margin with its latest offering.

The real estate brokerage has begun marketing penthouse unit 2A in The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton for nearly $14 million on behalf of its owners, Digital System Resources founder Richard Carroll and his wife, Suzanne. Asking $5.3 million more than the current record might seem a big ask, but the amenities going for the unit might just help it hit that mark.

The penthouse unit in the Ritz-Carlton, at 3100 South St. NW, offers sweeping views from Arlington to the Kennedy Center and comes complete with a wet bar, three bedrooms, a private-access elevator and its own fitness center. It also has four designated valet parking spaces. The two floors of the duplex unit, connected by a winding staircase, combine for more than 6,100 square feet of interior space and another 3,000 square feet of outdoor terrace space.

If it sells for its asking price, that would put it at about $1,532 per square foot. The current record-holding condo, at the Parc Somerset, came in at about $1,283 per square foot. That unit was sold by Henry and Carol Goldberg, who put the condo back on the market about six months after they acquired it for the $7.95 million
