Manassas City officer struck by vehicle

WASHINGTON — A Manassas City police officer is recovering after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning.

A police motor unit from the Masassas City Police Department was struck in the left lane of westbound Hastings Drive at about 10:30 a.m. Monday. The officer in the unit, whose name has not yet been released, was hit by a vehicle attempting to make a U-turn from the right lane.

The officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed Hastings Drive between Dumfries Road/Route 234.

Charges for the driver are pending, police say.
