Pet of the Week: Queen of Hearts

WASHINGTON — This lovely hound mix is somewhat “famous” for caring for her nine extremely cute puppies live on WARL’s Puppy Cam. Queen of Hearts is a wonderful mother, and dotes on her huge litter as any mother would.

Now that all of the puppies have found homes of their own, it’s mom’s turn.  Queen of Hearts is ready to retire to a loving home where she can be pampered, just like her puppies were.

But don’t expect her to spend all of her retirement napping. This 3-year-old loves to play, take long walks and – true to her nature – keep her nose down for just the right scent.

She has a beautiful “red” coat and a friendly disposition, and loves to be around people.  Come out to WARL to meet Queen of Hearts and help us reward her for a job well done raising her brood of ultra-cute puppies.

About WARL: Founded in 1914, the Washington Animal Rescue League is the oldest animal shelter in Washington D.C. Its mission includes rescuing, rehabilitating and finding homes for animals who have no where else to go. The League also supports animals through affordable veterinary care, community outreach and education. Learn more about the Washington Animal Rescue League at www.warl.org.
