WASHINGTON — If you’re spending your Thanksgiving Day at the office,
you’re
not alone, according to a survey.

Bloomberg BNA’s annual survey found that 33 percent of
organizations will require at least some employees to work on Thanksgiving.

Ninety-seven percent of employers provide Thanksgiving as a paid holiday with
71
percent offering paid days off for both Thursday and Friday.

A growing number of employers are willing to make it worth workers’ while to
come in to work on the holiday. Of those companies that require people to
work, 74 percent will add a little
something extra such as extra pay and/or leave. The number is up from 55
percent
in 2013.

So who typically has to work on Thanksgiving? The survey found employees
responsible for public safety, security or maintenance are most likely to
work
on Turkey Day.

Bloomberg BNA surveyed 364 employers to gather its data.
