Theater screens silent horror film for Halloween

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A Frederick theater is marking Halloween with a silent scream on the silver screen.

The downtown Weinberg Center for the Arts says Friday’s presentation of the 1922 vampire film “Nosferatu” will include musical accompaniment on the theater’s Wurlitzer organ, installed in 1926.

The event kicks off the center’s annual silent film series.

This is the first season since longtime organist Ray Brubacher died in February. His protege Michael Britt is stepping in to provide the soundtrack.
