Weekly Crime Report: July 28 to Aug. 4

The latest 2nd District crime summary includes an attempted break-in at the Brookville Pharmacy and a theft from outside of the vacant Hamburger Hamlet:

An attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Brookville Pharmacy, 7025 Brookville Road in Chevy Chase between 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 7/30 and 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, 7/31. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 7100 block of Western Avenue in Chevy Chase on Monday, 8/4 between 3:10 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 7900 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda on Friday, 8/1 at 11:30 p.m. A patron assaulted an employee.

Suspect: B/M, 6’2″/180 lbs.

A commercial burglary occurred at IBEX Pharmacy, 111520 Rockville Pike in Rockville on Thursday, 7/31 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred in the 11600 block of Nebel Street in Rockville on Thursday, 7/31 between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Seven thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Monday, 7/28 and Tuesday, 7/29. Four incidents occurred in the Glen Echo area, two occurred along the border with DC, and one occurred along Goldsboro Court. Vehicles were either unsecured, or else entered with no signs of force. Purses, iPods, laptops, and loose cash were targeted.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4800 block of Battery Lane in Bethesda sometime overnight between Tuesday, 7/29 and Wednesday, 7/30. Unknown entry; property taken from a storage area.

Six thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Wednesday, 7/30 and Thursday, 7/31. Five of the events occurred in residential neighborhoods by Greenwich Forest (south of Suburban Hospital), the sixth occurred in the hotel lot of the Marriott Conference Center. Vehicles were primarily either unsecured, or else entered with no signs of force. Cash, credit cards, and other loose items were targeted.

A theft occurred at the Hamburger Hamlet, 10400 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda on Wednesday, 7/30 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Property was taken from outside the restaurant.
