2nd man charged in killing of 3-yr-old girl

WASHINGTON – A second man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a 3-year-old girl in Landover.

Prince George’s County police say they arrested Brian R. Campbell, 24 of Forest Terrace in Landover, Wednesday at police headquarters after he gave a partial statement.

Police say Campbell helped Davon Wallace, 25, by providing the gun used to kill Knijah Bibb and by providing him with transportation away from the home after the shooting.

“He’s absolutely a culprit, obviously a co-conspirator. He is involved in every aspect of this tragic, tragic crime,” says Lt. Bill Alexander, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Campbell is charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter, two accessory charges plus other related charges. He was being held without bail at the county’s department of corrections.

Police say Wallace fired multiple shots into a home in the 6900 block of Forest Terrace, a block from Campbell’s home, and that one of the bullets hit and killed Knijah Sunday.

Knijah was visiting the home at the time of the shooting.

Wallace had argued with the brother of a woman who lived at the home over clothes the teen boy had borrowed. Wallace left the home and returned with a gun, police say.

Wallace faces a first-degree murder charge. However he has not been arrested and police are still actively searching for him.

Alexander asked the community to continue calling in tips regarding Wallace’s location and to keep looking for him.

Anyone with information regarding Wallace’s whereabouts is asked to call 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
