2 brothers slain in Henry County

AXTON, Va. (AP) — Police are investigating the deaths of two Henry County brothers as homicides.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office tells media outlets that deputies responding to an accident report found 40-year-old Alfonso Navarro-Pena late Friday night in a pickup truck in Axton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies found the body of 33-year-old Noel Navarro-Pena on Saturday morning in a parking lot in Axton.

Police say both brothers appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds. Autopsies are scheduled Monday.

Police say the brothers lived at the same residence in Axton.

Sheriff Lane Perry says investigators believe the slayings are drug-related.
