Maggie’s Closes On Cordell Avenue

Maggie's on Cordell AvenueMaggie’s, the Cordell Avenue sports bar from local Jeff Trilling, is closed about a year-and-a-half after it opened.

The restaurant (4914 Cordell Ave.) made the announcement on its Facebook page Saturday after a week in which it was mostly closed for business.

“Hello loyal fans, friends and family. We regret to tell you that we are currently closed until further notice,” the announcement read. “Stay tuned and thanks for your support!”

Trilling had hoped the bar and restaurant would serve as a neighborhood gathering spot similar to his father’s popular Maggie’s restaurant in Tenleytown. Uniforms from local high school sports teams lined the wall since Trilling bought the space from Wing Hub in July 2012.

Trilling did not respond to a request for comment on the closing.

The stretch of Cordell Avenue includes the popular Caddies on Cordell, as well as newer bars Brickside and Roof, which opened in December.
