Weekly Crime Report: April 1 to April 9

County Police are dealing with a new batch of commercial burglaries in the North Bethesda/White Flint area, a week after the 2nd District Police Commander identified the burglaries as the biggest problem his officers are facing this year:

A commercial burglary occurred at the DryClean Expo, 11130 Rockville Pike, Rockville on Thursday, 4/4 at 5:00 a.m.  Forced entry; nothing taken.

A commercial office burglary occurred at 11140 Rockville Pike, Rockville on Friday, 4/5 between 6:45 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.  Forced entry; nothing taken.

Several commercial office burglaries occurred at 6110 Executive Boulevard, North Bethesda on Thursday, 4/4 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred during various overnight time periods in this Chevy Chase beat.  No signs of forced entry were found in any of the vehicles involved.  One vehicle parked on Sundale Drive was found to have a vehicle part taken.  The other three thefts occurred in areas near the DC border (Turner Lane, Brooklawn Terrace, and Oxford Street).  Unlocked vehicles were entered and loose cash was taken.

A theft occurred in the 4400 block of Willow Lane, Chevy Chase on Monday, 4/8 at approximately 2:30 p.m.  The victim was walking when the suspect rode up behind her on a bicycle, grabbed the victim’s property, and continued riding away.

Suspect: B/M, 30, 6’.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred this week in this Chevy Chase beat.  Between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday 4/3, entry was forced into a car parked near the Capital Crescent Trail (near Arlington Road and Little Falls Parkway) and a wallet and iPod were taken.  During the overnight hours from Wednesday, 4/4 to Thursday, 4/5, three unlocked vehicles in the Chevy Chase Heights neighborhood were entered and searched (Chelsea Lane and Chase Avenue).  Loose items were taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 9600 block of Kingston Road, Kensington on Saturday, 4/6 between 11:50 a.m. and noon.  Entry was forced on both vehicles, which were parked along the street.  Vehicles were searched and purses were taken.

An indecent exposure incident occurred at Nicholson Lane and Rockville Pike, Rockville on Monday, 4/1 at approximately 3:00 p.m.  The suspect exposed himself to the victim.

Suspect: W/M, 50s.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 4700 block of Langdrum Lane, Chevy Chase on Monday, 4/8 at approximately 1:00 a.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, 45, from Bethesda.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5500 block of Uppingham Street, Chevy Chase on Thursday, 4/4 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.  Unforced entry; property taken.
