Marines offer anti-violence program at Quantico

WASHINGTON – In reaction to the recent deadly shootings at Marine Corps Base Quantico, the Marines are launching a new anti-violence program.

The double murder-suicide at Quantico’s Officer Candidates School on March 21 and lessons learned from the Fort Hood shootings have prompted the creation of the mandatory course.

The Violence Prevention Program is being offered from April 2 to 12. All service members at Quantico, as well as Department of Defense employees on the base, are required to attend the training.

The hope is to stop Marine Corps violence on its bases and wherever its service members live and work.
