Falls Church resident holds world record for longest legs

WASHINGTON – Following in one Virginia resident’s footsteps would be a tall order.

The Washington Post reports former Russian basketball player and current Falls Church resident Svetlana Pankratova is recognized by the Guinness World Records as having the longest legs of any female in the world.

She’s 6 feet 5 inches tall, with her legs accounting for 4 feet and 4 inches of that measurement.

Pankratova, 41, played basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University and is the school’s all-time women’s leader in blocked shots, the Post says.

She now lives in Falls Church, where she is married to Jack Gosnell. The Falls Church News-Press says she’s an assistant coach for the George Mason High School girls basketball team.

The News-Press says Pankratova first appeared in the Guinness Book of World Records in its 2009 edition.

See Pankratova and the world’s shortest man — He Pingping of China — in the video below from 2008. Pingping died in 2010.
