Crime Report: Indecent Exposures

Police are looking for a man who was allegedly masturbating while following a woman with his car.

The incident happened last Friday night in the Douglas Park neighborhood. From this week’s Arlington County crime report:

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 03/15/13, 1300 block of S. Monroe Street. At 7:30 pm on March 15, a victim observed an unknown subject masturbating while seated inside a vehicle with the door open. As the victim walked away, she noticed the subject following her in his car. The subject then parked and proceeded to exit the car and follow the victim by foot. The victim then ran into a Post Office to escape the subject, and the subject fled the scene. The subject is described as a 40-year-old black male, approximately 5’8” tall and 200 lbs. He had dark skin, short black hair, no facial hair and a muscular build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a beige long sleeved shirt and dark pants.

Last Thursday, police say a man was arrested for exposing himself to a woman at Arlington Central Library.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 03/14/13, 1000 block of N. Quincy Street. At 5:30 pm on March 14, a subject exposed himself to a female victim inside the Central Library. The suspect was located a couple hours later in the area. Patrick Robert Rooney, 67, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. He was held with no bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 03/17/13, 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive. At 10 pm on March 17, a subject got into a verbal altercation with the victim. The subject then struck the victim’s face with the back of his hand causing the victim’s cheek to be fractured in two places. The subject then fled the scene by foot, but returned to the victim’s home the next day and was apprehended by police as he attempted to flee again. Delonte Robert Peters, 20, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. He is currently being held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 03/17/13, 4100 block of N. Fairfax Drive. At 3 pm on March 17, a victim was sitting in the outdoor area of a restaurant and bar with friends when he was approached by the subject. The subject stated that a female within the group was his ex-girlfriend and then walked away. A few minutes later, the subject returned and punched the victim several times in the face, which caused a deep laceration above the victim’s right eye. The victim was treated at the Virginia Hospital Center for the non life-threatening injuries he sustained. Tony Christopher Collins, 40, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. He is currently being held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 03/13/13, 2300 block of N. 11th Street. At 5:45 am on March 13, police responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the subject had brandished a knife at the victim and thrown a vase at the victim’s head. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not have to be transported for medical care. Florence Loretta Puryear, 46, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. She is currently being held without bond.

PEEPING TOM, 03/16/13, 2400 block of S Walter Reed Drive. At 1:44 am on March 16, a victim allegedly heard what sounded like someone trying to gain entry through her bedroom window. The victim then saw a silhouette outside of the window. There were no signs of tampering outside of the window, and there is no suspect description.

ROBBERY, 03/15/13, 1500 block of S. Garfield Street. At 9:30 pm on March 15, a juvenile victim reported being robbed by an unknown subject. The subject allegedly punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground. While the victim was on the ground, the subject continued punching him in the face and kicking him in the torso. The subject attempted to steal the victim’s phone, but was only able to steal the victim’s ear-bud headphones. The victim was able to break free and run away. While attempting to run away, the victim was allegedly approached by another subject. The victim was able to flee from that subject as well and seek safety at a nearby home. The victim was transported to the Virginia Hospital Center for minor injuries and released to his mother. The first subject is described as a 20-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 6’3” and 170 lbs. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a ski mask. The second subject is described as a 20-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5’6” and 150 lbs. He had black hair and was wearing a dark t-shirt and dark pants.

ROBBERY, 03/15/13, 5200 block of N. 1st Street. At 1:28 am on March 15, a cab driver allegedly snatched a victim’s purse and drove off when she attempted to pay her fare. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his thirties.

BURGLARY, 03/18/13, 1500 block of N. 12th Street. At 11:05 pm on March 18, a resident observed an unknown subject trying to break into a door on the west side of an apartment building. The subject fled the scene by foot. The suspect is described as a medium-build black male that is approximately 6’2” tall. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing black pants, a bulky black jacket, a flat rim black hat, and carrying what appeared to be a rusty metal crowbar.

BURGLARY, 03/18/13, 1300 block of S. 19th Street. Between 7 am on March 15 and 11:25 am on March 18, an unknown subject(s) broke into a vacant house. The house had filled with natural gas due to the unknown subject(s) leaving the kitchen’s gas line on. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 03/15/13, 2000 block of S. Quincy Street. Between 10:50 am and 6:50 pm on March 15, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence and stole numerous items to include cash and a PSP Vita. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 03/14/13, 1100 block of N. Stafford Street. Between 7:35 am and 5 pm on March 14, an unknown subject entered a residence through an unlocked window and stole a laptop and tablet computer. There is no suspect description.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 03/16/13, 4400 block of N. 4th Street. At 10:45 pm on March 16, an unknown subject(s) broke an apartment window. Several other windows on the apartment building were tampered with. There is no suspect(s) description.

BREAKING AND ENTERING, 03/13/13, 1300 block of S. 19th Street. Between 6 am on March 9 and 11:45 am on March 13, an unknown subject(s) entered a residence without permission and destroyed property within the home. There is no suspect(s) description.

ATTEMPTED BREAKING AND ENTERING, 03/15/13, 2200 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 2:16 am on March 15, an intoxicated subject forced entry into his female neighbor’s apartment with a pocketknife. The subject attempted to enter the apartment again when police were present. Michael Edward Lydon II, 32, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with attempted breaking and entering and unlawful entry.
