Jack’s Boathouse owner doesn’t believe Park Service owns leased land

The National Park Service is trying to move quickly in awarding a new contract for the waterfront space currently housed by Jack’s Boathouse. But Jack’s owner Paul Simkin and his attorney believe the property does not belong to the National Park Service, Washington City Paper reports.

They are citing a 1985 D.C. Council resolution that transferred Georgetown waterfront property to the National Park Service, and that the land should revert to the city in an amendment, of which two were made in 2000 and 2005.
