Bells to ring at National Cathedral for Newtown victims

WASHINGTON – It’s been one week since the school massacre in Newtown, Conn.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy is asking residents to observe a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Places of worship will ring bells for the lives lost last Friday.

Funeral bells will ring 28 at the Washington National Cathedral.

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell also is asking for a statewide moment of reflection.

At WTOP, the victims will be remembered with a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m.
