Georgetown University seeks 100 acres for expansion

Georgetown University is making plans to expand eastward in the District, possibly as far as Anacostia, The Washington Post reports.

This month, the school received bids from development companies interested in helping the school acquire and develop a new campus of as much as 100 acres, which is nearly the size of its 104-acre main campus.

Among sites under consideration are some at the eastern end of Capitol Hill and Poplar Point, a waterfront parcel abutting Anacostia.
