Autopsy confirms Fairfax Co. woman was run over

WASHINGTON – The autopsy of a woman found last Friday on a Fairfax County roadway confirms she died from being run over.

Fairfax County police say they’re still investigating why Shelinda Arrington, 21, got out of her car and had some sort of altercation with the driver of a dark-colored SUV with temporary license plates.

Police believe that’s the vehicle that hit her, but they don’t know if the incident was road rage or if Arrington knew the driver before this fight.

Witnesses told police this weekend they saw Arrington exit her car and get into a heated discussion with the driver shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Harrison Lane in the Mount Vernon area.

Police say the autopsy shows Arrington did die from being hit by a car, not from the altercation with the driver.
