Victims sought in Montgomery Co. sex offense case

WASHINGTON — Montgomery County police officers are investigating sexual offense allegations involving a former aikido karate teacher and several of his former students.

On Jan. 29, Jorge Raul Allica — also known as George Paul Allica — was arrested by detectives and charged with multiple counts of sexual offenses.

On Sept. 18, the police department learned that a student of Allica’s at the Aikido Dojo was repeatedly victimized between 1984 and 1994, according to a news release.

Investigation revealed that Allica engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a male, who was a minor for most of the time period. Allica tutored and coached him in another sport and academic subject.

According to police, the incidents took place at Allica’s home, then in Silver Spring and Chevy Chase.

Another victim was identified during this investigation. There could be other unidentified victims, police say.

Allica was an instructor at the Aikido Shobuken Dojo between 1983 through 1994. He taught in Prince George’s County Public Schools between 1989 and 1991.

Those with further information about Allica should call Detective Schendel at 240-773-5460.
