Gaithersburg man gets 20 years in murder-for-hire plot

WASHINGTON — Ndokey Enow was sentenced Friday afternoon for trying to hire someone to kill the mother of his child.

In June 2014, Ndokey Enow struck the deal in a parking lot along University Boulevard in Silver Spring. Enow offered $1,000 for the hit, and also showed pictures of his intended victim, and they drove to the victim’s neighborhood and Enow pointed out her home.

The two also went to an ATM, and Enow withdrew a $300 deposit for the hit.

Turned out Enow made a deal with an undercover Montgomery County police officer.

“He was sentenced to 40 years, suspending 20 of those years, and that was above the guidelines,” said Ramon Korionoff with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office. “He has a five-year probationary period where, should he violate that probation, a judge at a later date could impose the full 20 years additional.”

Korionoff says Enow’s sentence was stiffer than recommended guidelines, noting that “the judge did say in court that he was particularly offended by this defendant’s actions. His long history of domestic violence and abuse merited a long sentence. This was something that we did agree upon with his defense team.”

Once Enow is released from prison, his probation terms include staying within confines of the law, and also not contacting the intended victim in any way during that time.
