Former Redskin Josh Morgan faces firearms charge

WASHINGTON — Former Redskin Josh Morgan faces misdemeanor charges after accidentally shooting himself last month in Leesburg, Virginia.

Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, says on Feb. 4., Joshua L. Morgan, 30, of Leesburg was charged with misdemeanor reckless use of a firearm.

Loudoun County sheriff’s deputies went to Morgan’s home in the 22700 block of Hillside Circle on Jan. 31 for a report of a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Morgan was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, a police report says.

TMZ Sports reports Morgan was cleaning a weapon when it went off.

He will be back in court March 9.

Morgan has played for the Redskins, San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears.
