Man dead after parking lot stabbing in Leesburg, Va.

WASHINGTON — Leesburg, Va., police are investigating a stabbing death outside the 7-11 on Plaza Street early Saturday morning that resulted in the death of a 22 year-old New Jersey man.

According to police, officers were called out to a disturbance involving a “large group of people”  in the parking lot of the convenience store at 22 Plaza Street NE about  2:50 a.m.

On the scene, officers found an adult male suffering from an upper leg wound in the back of a car. He was rushed to INOVA Lansdowne Hospital and then transferred by Air Care to the INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. He has not been identified.

Police say multiple subjects have been located and detained for questioning from “both inside and outside the store,” according to a release. A vehicle located at the scene was confirmed as stolen out of Fairfax, Va.

The 7/11 Store located at 22 Plaza Street, NE was  closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.
