Morning rain causes power outages

WASHINGTON — In what is expected to be a day full of strong storms, power companies are continuing to battler outages across the region.

All numbers as of 2 p.m. Thursday:

Dominion Virginia Power has more than 900 customers without power in the Fairfax area. There are also nearly 4,000 customers without power in the Richmond area.

Pepco had more than 1,600 customers without power in Prince George’s County at one point, but power was restored to all but a handful shortly before 2 p.m. There are still about 130 customers out in the Deanwood area of the District.

If you need the number for your power company just text the word “POWER” to 91035, and WTOP will text them right back to you.
