Thousands march in D.C. for March for Life anniversary

WASHINGTON — The 42nd annual March for Life comes to Washington Thursday. The event brings tens of thousands of faithful to the area to mark the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade.

The Archdiocese of Washington says more than 28,000 teens and young adults are expected to attend a Mass at the Verizon Center, to pray for an end to legalized abortion. Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the Archbishop of Washington will celebrate the 7:30 a.m. mass along with bishops from around the U.S.

There will be a march to the U.S. Supreme Court from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. along with a noon-time rally on the National Mall.
