Introduction Start spreadin’ the news — the oh so sad news — that Frank Sinatra Jr. has died at the age of 72. His family says he passed away unexpectedly Wednesday of cardiac arrest while on tour in Daytona Beach, Florida. It seems almost fitting in hindsight that one of his final stops in life came last September at Wolf Trap in Virginia, where he performed his father’s biggest hits to a backdrop of slideshow family images to celebrate what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday in a special centennial concert. It’s as if the son stuck around just long enough to pay tribute to the father, then bid us all adieu to join the big band in the sky. What a perfect case of life moving in “Cycles.” Click through the gallery for a journey through some of the films and songs he saluted on that magical night, an unrivaled body of work that the late Sinatra Jr. took on the road with a smooth voice and charisma that were impressive in their own right, but with a legacy forever intertwined with Ol’ Blue Eyes.
