Police seek 4 in DC special officer’s assault, robbery (Video)

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for four people involved in the robbery and assault of a special police officer in Southwest last week.

On Dec. 14 around 5:30 p.m., four people approached a police officer working inside a store in the 1100 block of 4th Street Southwest, near the Waterfront Metro station. There was an exchange, and then the suspects began punching and hitting the victim.

During the altercation, one of the suspects grabbed the officer’s wallet. The suspects then fled on foot.

The officer received minor injuries, said D.C. police.

Police released video surveillance from the incident to help identify the suspects:

Anyone who has information about the case can call police at 202-727-9099. There is a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
