For nearly two decades, the Heart of America Foundation has been supporting children in need by creating vibrant, healthy learning environments in schools and providing the books and technology they need to succeed.
Here in Washington, DC, Prince Georges County, Fairfax County and Prince William County, Heart of America has touched the lives of over 327,000 children at 261 schools and education centers, providing school library and school cafeteria makeovers, technology and books.
Most of these children have fewer than 5 books in their homes, and outdated ones in their school library which can significantly impede their success in school. Heart of America’s Books from the Heart program puts books in the hands of these children and on empty library shelves and you can help!
