Crofton man charged with killing girlfriend

WASHINGTON — A 28-year-old Crofton woman was found dead inside her home Sunday night, and police have charged her boyfriend with murder.

Ryan G. Hollebon, 38, also of Crofton, faces multiple charges stemming from the death of Jhalandia Elaine Butler.

Anne Arundel County police responded to a call of domestic violence in the 1700 block of Carry Place just before 9:30 p.m.

Officers found Butler with signs of trauma to her body. They pronounced her dead at the scene. Police said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of her death.

Hollebon has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault, as well as use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure.

Officials said Hollebon ran from Butler’s home before police arrived. Despite a search of the area through the night, police were unable to locate him.

The police said Monday afternoon that Hollebon was taken into custody in the 1300 block of East Patapsco Avenue, in Baltimore.
