Home-buying Web site matches buyers, sellers

WASHINGTON - It's like an online dating service for home buyers and sellers.

Findbuyers.com is a new site that allows buyers to describe their dream home and get matched up.

Buyers get matched to homes that meet most of their criteria, communicate with sellers anonymously and even have access to homes that have not been listed with realtors.

For sellers, the Web site allows you to search for buyers who want your exact home. Sellers enter property details and view a ranked list of matching buyers.

Realtors can use the site on behalf of their clients.

Findbuyers.com founder and CEO Eldad Moraru, himself a realtor, says during the process, you can communicate via email with buyers or sellers and reveal yourself only when you want.

Moraru says the days of realtors driving the search for a new home are gone.

"Buyers are finding properties online," Moraru says. "The real value of a realtor is in the writing of the contracts, negotiating the terms, walking a purchaser through the process of home inspection."

Moraru says all of the communication is through the system since you log-in using a nickname and are never bothered by emails.

"You choose when you log in and respond to those messages," Moraru says.
