WASHINGTON- Two triathlons will take place in the nation's capital Sunday morning.

The IronMed Charity triathlon sponsored by Georgetown University Medical Center and the Bethesda Triathlon are scheduled.

The IronMed Charity triathlon's course spans the Capital Crescent Trail to P Street in Northwest Washington.

The Bethesda Triathlon's bike and run course will span 11.8 miles along Brewer House Road, Edison Lane, Georgetown Road, Golf Course Lane, Tuckerman Lanes, Rockville Pike and Wickershire Blvd.

Other weekend road

Part of a very busy road in the area will be shutting down completely Saturday night.

Route 50, also known as Arlington Boulevard, will be closed completely through Seven Corners Saturday night after 8 p.m.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will be putting bridge beams in place for a pedestrian bridge near the shopping center.

The work will last until 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

Metro also has scheduled track work on the Red and Orange lines this weekend.

Work is being done between the Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue stations all weekend long. Metro warns that riders can expect to add at least a half hour to their regular travel time.

On the Orange Line, there's work between the Vienna and West Falls Church stations from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday.
