Recent Reports
If you are not online, finding out the news can be difficult. You may want to visit your local library and ask for assistance in finding product recalls. For those of you in the online world, a good place to start is recalls.gov. This site will connect you to the six federal agencies that handle recalls and will enable you to report unsafe products, find out about a product's recall history and learn about new safety announcements.
This is a valuable site if you are buying a used car and want to know about its recall history. However, automobiles that are subject to recall have the highest compliance rate of any product. Over two-thirds of the auto problems are fixed. But of course, you don't want to buy a used car and find it is in the unrepaired group.
