Convenience, anonymity among trends for smartphone apps in 2014

WASHINGTON – If you like using social apps on your smartphone, some new trends may define the way you communicate in 2014.

Look for more social apps to appear that take very little effort to use, according to CNET. One example is the Uber app, which allows users to request a driver with the press of a button.

Apps such as Snapchat and Whisper, which involve temporary and/or anonymous sharing will continue to pick up steam, CNET predicts.

Also, apps such as Tinder — which shows you photos of people near you to whom you may be attracted — bring convenience to the dating world. With Tinder, users can anonymously like people or pass on them with one touch to their phone.

Also, CNET forecasts an increase in social networks aimed at a very narrow segment of people, such as dating sites for Mormons.
