5 deputy clerks agree to issue licenses after boss jailed

Five of the six deputy clerks say they will issue marriage licenses to gay couples, despite their boss’ refusal to do so. Earlier in the day, a U.S. District judge, saying "oaths mean things," ordered a defiant Clerk Kim Davis to jail for contempt after she insisted that her “conscience will not allow” her to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.
