NASA scientist to present on global warming

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — An atmospheric scientist at NASA’s Langley Research Center will present a public presentation on global warming.

Norman Loeb will discuss whether global warming is a temporary blip or something more permanent at the Virginia Air and Space Center in downtown Hampton on Tuesday evening. The discussion is free and open to the public.

Loeb is the principal investigator of a satellite project called Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System. NASA says observations from CERES are used to determine the Earth’s radiation budget, or measurements of incoming energy from the sun and outgoing energy back to space that determines the planet’s temperature and climate.

Loeb holds a doctorate in in atmospheric sciences from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
