Taking a trip? Here are some suggestions for snacks that are more or less healthy.

Fruit is a no-brainer as a travel food. Select fruits that will hold up in the car. Apples fit the bill and are filled with fiber. Firm cherries also travel well. Look for alternatives to sodas. Drinks, such as V8 or Splash, are a way to sneak vegetables and fruits into a road-trip diet. A small can (5.5 ounces) provides 80 percent of your vitamin C and 25 percent of your vitamin A for the day, based on a 2,000-calorie diet. Additionally, a 30-calorie can has one gram of fiber.
